For this assignment, our objective was to create several examples of implied transparency that demonstrated some light transparencies, some median transparencies, and some dark transparencies. One of the things we talked about in class in order to determine if these were sucessful or not was whether or not the transparencies were convincing. Some of these transparencies are a mix of each outer color, while others are not; hence the term implied transparency. Our goal was to keep the values of each center square relatively different than the outer squares. I struggled with this a bit, but overall I thought these transparencies were convincing and had a good value difference. Many of the center squares still have a hue from its outer squares, which is what helps it look transparent. (outer left) dark transparency, (middle) median transparency, (outer right) light transparency.
